In 2012 I started a blog about medicine, bodies and gender in the early modern period.

www.earlymodernmedicine.com

The blog is published fortnightly and features posts written by myself and others.

Regular features on early modern therapies are provided by editor and contributor Dr Sara Read from the University of Loughborough.

Previous posts have looked at the effects of alcohol on health, perceptions of fertility, gout, blood-letting and pessaries.

If you are a historian of early modern medicine or the body and would like to contribute to the blog please complete the following enquiry form.
